Our next PhD student, Magda, had an opportunity to complete an internship at the Monash University in Melbourne. Magda was working under the supervision of Dr. Karolina Matuszek during 6-week stay. Magda focused on studying physical properties of phase change materials derived from natural precursors which she investigates under her PhD research.
Magda improved her skills in using differential scanning calorimetry and learned principles of single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The internship was funded under the Strategic Partnerships Programme founded by National Agency for Academic Exchange. ‘This trip provided me with great experiences, and I will certainly remember Australia as one of the best places I have ever visited’ – Magda summed up.
